Put Your PAWS on It! Become a Professional Actor

If you would love to be an actor, or want to brush up on your acting skills, The Performing Arts Workshop & Studio [PAWS] is set to bridge the divide between Amateurs and professionals in Theatre with a 3 month practical acting course. PAWS will show you the fundamentals of the craft from your very first day.

This will be 13 weeks of Drama, Dance, Music and Storytelling to be followed by a classic showcase at the popular theatre and art hub, Terra Kulture.

Schedule:  Classes will hold 3 days in a week, Wednesday to Friday.  9am – 1pm daily, with special classes on Saturdays from 10:00am – 3:00pm

Description

This 3 month course is centered on a core acting syllabus with the addition of many other practical subjects like dance, music and mime; relevant to professional development. It is an arts participation class designed to teach the basic skills, concepts and methods of realistic acting technique for Stage, TV and Film.

Beyond that, the class will provide you the opportunity to strengthen powers of concentration, focus, analysis, imagination, creativity and empathy that are critical to every art form.

At the end of this course, participants will be required to showcase themselves through the forms below

Required Play texts: The Wives written by Ahmed Yerima & To Love a Ghost written by Ita Hozaife.

Short Film: Widow’s Window, a PAWS Production.

Radio drama recording: Naija Hustle, a PAWS Production.

Stage Play: The White Queen of Calabar, a PAWS Production.
